Item description for Lunatic (Lost Books V5) by ted dekker & Kaci Hill...
Fight the Horde . . . or die with love. Separated by time and space, our heroes finally return home. But five years have passed and they find a nightmarishly changed world. The despised Horde are now in control. The healing lakes of Elyon are now blood red. And mighty Thomas Hunter and his Forest Guard have disappeared. Then the world unravels further. Dive into a journey among the Horde whose sole mission is the destruction of the Circle. Come face-to-face with an enchantingly beautiful creature with unearthly powers--and questionable motives. Take a stand with the chosen but be wary, for not all is as it seems. Now the chosen themselves are questioning their very sanity. For the only way to win may be to lose. The only way to live may be to die. And the only one to lead may be a lunatic.

Reviews - What do customers think about Lunatic (Lost Books V5)?
 | A new twist in the saga May 28, 2010 |
| In "Lunatic" (and in "Elyon"), Dekker takes the Lost Books series into previously uncharted territory. While the development of the characters is based on the preceding four books, the plot includes some unexpected additions to the whole Circle/Project Showdown world. The new elements are added without a lot of explanation or transition, because everything about Lunatic moves quickly. I highly recommend it, but it is best enjoyed after having read Showdown, the Circle trilogy, and the preceding Lost Books - more of the nuances and developments will be appreciated if you know what happened before. | | | | ok May 21, 2010 |
Ted dekker is a great story teller and i have read all his books. Lunatic is a great story and well written. Why the two stars then? i give the book two stars because for me , the primary message the book is meant to give is very clouded. The book reads more like a thriller designed to give you a scare, than a book designed to impart faith and love. I buy and read Ted Dekker books on the assumption that i am purchasing a Faith based novel. It seems with each successive story, the book turns out to be more focused on suspense and thrill than imparting faith.
As a thriller, the book is excellent. As a book intended to impart faith and love, i give it 2 stars. One thing, i think a faith based book should do is impart hope(at least by the end) the end of lunatic creates apprehension. I know Elyon might end better, but each book should be true to it's message. Especially, when you consider that this book was designed for a younger audience then the need for a clear message becomes necessary. Though this review is not about "Green" i must say Green has the some issue too. There must be an ending! Things should not keep going around in circles ( though i must admit the concept is unique)!!
Another thing about Lunatic is it has a tendency to be scary. A 13-16 year old reading it may have some not to good dreams for a while (especially if read into the night). So while i recommend it as a good thriller/horror story, i will not recommend it for someone looking for a faith based book for his or her teenagers. | | | | Lunatic May 5, 2010 |
| I'd rather start with Book #1 first before I go on to other books and Lunatic is Book #5... | | | | Keeps going Mar 18, 2010 |
| I'm not sure what I think about this book. I sit here and feel that there is so much to ponder beyond what was written. The story itself is fast paced and you must pay attention for one thing happens after another in a perfect harmony. The characters are great and lovable, while the villains are very much the opposite as should be. I can tell from reading this story that there is so much more in Ted's mind of what is going on and I'm curious about more related books to see what more I can delve from this world. It appears that there is more than one world, and more than one series that connects and I'm curious to learn more. | | | | Dekker Jan 31, 2010 |
Ted Dekker is a master of the pen when it comes to mixing true life situations involving the true natures of man.
