| I bought the kindle version of this book. I was hoping to find helpful information that would assist me in understanding someone I know who is addicted to porn. However, this book is overly clinical (with numerous citations throughout the book) and seems aimed more at a therapist or counselor than a lay person. The book is not so much about porn as it is about male brokenness. The chapters on porn are short and point out the obvious. This book would have been more helpful with stories of individuals who were addicted to porn and recovered. This book could also benefit others if it had a chapter on how to live with/deal with/help someone addicted to porn. It's a very dry read; perhaps this was just an expansion of a journal paper? Kindle comments: the tables and copyright page are impossible to read (very tiny) on a Kindle 2. There is misplaced hyphenation and extra spaces between words. | I read this book with great interest, hoping that someone would finally help me get the connection between the brain and sexual sin. I still don't get it. If Jesus Christ says, "out of the heart comes sexual immorality" then sexual sin doesn't originate in the brain. It originates in the heart. The biblical view of sexual sin must never waiver from the heart influencing the brain, then the brain influencing the behavior. The HEART is "wired" for false intimacy. The heart MUST be change to change the brain, to change the behavior. The author will help many understand the importance of the brain, but being weak on the heart as the cause, is very problematic! Great book, great help for anyone looking for answers in this technological world that has to some extent separated human and to an extent fractured humanity. This book offers perspective on the background of this corrupted industry and explains and shows it's fruit, its bad fruit for man.
God wants to give us life and make it more abundant and that includes sex, the gift of God given to man exclusively, not to animals as they only reproduce but no, man expresses his love to his spouse via sex. It is an expression of love and a special worship of God within the holy of holies behind the veil in the private bedroom of our hearts and rooms with our husband, our wife.

This is a fantastic read. Although parts get rather clinical, I found it captured my attention all the way through.
Great for professionals in the fields of counseling and psychology as well as those who really want to fully understand what porn addiction is, how it is manifested, what damage it scientifically does,and how to overcome.
