Item description for The Socialization Trap by Rick Boyer...
Do you wonder if home education will stunt your children socially? Or, are you seeking a way to clearly and gently defend your decision to home educate?
The Solocialization Trap answers these important questions and many more!
Meet Rick and Marilyn Boyer, parents of 14 children, all home educated, healthy, happy, and socially adept. In fact, home education has offered a simpler, more wholesome, and more effective opportunity to "socialize" their children than formal schooling ever could have-without making efforts to artificially replace the school environment.
In The Socialization Trap, Rick combines his extensive personal experience with solid Scriptural principles and scientific research to address: What Happens in Peer Groups-The System in School, Peers in School, The Electronic Socializer, The Family and Church Programs, The Family-The Most Important Social Group, A Social Circle for your Child, and more.

Reviews - What do customers think about The Socialization Trap?
 | An excellent response to the "socialization" question Oct 26, 2001 |
| I was so glad to find a book that clearly and Biblically explains how home education provides the healthiest socialization environment for children. I think it is a MUST read for anyone considering homeschooling or anyone who is currently homeschooling. The author is a homeschool father of twelve who provides the reader with rich ammunition to respond to what is now the standard objection of the world to homeschooling. He details the common myths of socialization and how it is the age segregated institutionalized school, not the family school, that is a socialization nightmare. He also warns homeschoolers not to fall back into a socialization trap by mimicing the world's age segregated social scenarios. I loved this book. | | | Write your own review about The Socialization Trap
