Item description for Coming Unglued (Scrapbooker's Series #3) by Rebeca Seitz & Brooke Sanford...
Coming Unglued is the second book in the SISTERS, INK series of novels. At the center of the creativity and humor are four unlikely young adult sisters, each separately adopted during early childhood into the loving home of Marilyn and Jack Sinclair. Ten years after their mother Marilyn has died, the multi-racial Sinclair sisters (Meg, Kendra, Tandy, and Joy) still return to her converted attic scrapbooking studio in the small town of Stars Hill, Tennessee, to encourage each other through life's highs and lows. They've even turned their artistic passion into a new local scrapbooking business known as Sisters, Ink. Coming Unglued focuses on painter and musician Kendra who struggles with her sense of self-worth---a struggle that only intensifies when she realizes a "friendship" developed with a guy at a jazz club is actually an emotional affair. With her sisters' help, Kendra strives to do what's right, embracing the call to safeguard her heart and mind and hold fast to God's truth and grace.

Coming Unglued is the second book in the SISTERS, INK series of novels written by, for, and about, scrapbookers. This book focuses on Kendra. Her flamboyant lifestyle makes great pictures for scrapping – and a great cover for the loneliness she feels. But as Kendra's dating antics spiral out of control, they have an affect on Sisters, Ink and her journalism career. Because no one can be objective when they're falling in love with the subject of a scandalous story right? And in a town as small as Stars Hill, there's no hiding something this big. |

 | Sisters! Sisters! Heartwarming & Enjoyable Read! Sep 21, 2008 |
Kendra has some deep seeded problems. Dark secrets and pain that she just can't seem to release. Her decisions in life are often not wise choices as her conception of herself is anything but good due to her troubling past. Thank God she has her sisters, and those around her that care and are ready to step up to the plate and do battle for her happiness. She will learn what is important in life and the importance of those who love her, but her way to that decision will not be an easy one.
In this novel we enter the life of Kendra and her sisters, boyfriends, family and friends. We travel with them as mysteries are unraveled, hidden emotions and deep sorrows are brought forth, problems confronted and battles fought and won. It is a story of family, unity and learning to let go at times when it isn't easy to do so, and hold on when that is even harder to do. It is a story of sharing, and learning when it is important to keep silent. It is a story of life, love, and commitment, right, wrong and the grey in-between.
I liked this book. It was at times very upbeat and at other times very serious and mysterious. Kendra's deep emotional turmoil boiled and bubbled until you knew it would explode like a heated volcano. Good job. The characters were very realistic and the twists and turns of their lives keep the story flowing nicely. The author did a great job pulling you into the storyline and keeping you moving along with each event that transpired, and the ending was great. Very good book.

This is such a clever series of books with the common bond of family but the roots of such unique beginnings. The 4 sisters are adopted into the same family when they are young and each book follows one of the sisters as an adult. The first book followed Tandy as she came back home to Stars Hill, Tennessee where the rest of the family resides. In book two we follow Kendra as she picks up with Tandy in their new business "Sisters, Ink" a scrapbooking business that the sisters are doing together.
Kendra is a unique individual that cracks me up, but she has a rough past that keeps wanting to derail her from being happy as an adult. I really enjoyed following her as she tries to sort everything out. She keeps trying to sabotage herself and I think that is true in so many people's lives.
It is a great addition to the fun Sisters, Ink series - get your copy now!
| | | | 2nd book in series about sisters is a winner Aug 4, 2008 |
| Coming Unglued by Rebeca Seitz is the second book in the Sisters Ink series. This book focuses on Kendra, one of the four Sinclair sisters. Kendra was adopted at the age of eight after being raised by her mother Sylvia. Sylvia allowed herself and her daughter to be abused by a veritable parade of men, and Kendra hasn't been able to break free from the demons that haunt her about her past and tell her that she isn't worth a good man. She's torn between two men: a married man who tells her how much he loves her, and a good Christian man, Kendra is sure she doesn't deserve. The sisters recognize Kendra's self-destructive behavior and regularly convene scrapbooking nights in order to encourage and interrogate her. Each sister is struggling with her own spiritual troubles, and Seitz does a great job of juggling all of the different plots. But Seitz really shines with the dialogue between the sisters, and Kendra's internal voices that whisper she's no good. This entry didn't focus as heavily on scrapbooking as the previous entry did, but the plot is fantastic. | | | | Wonderful Forgiveness and Love Jul 24, 2008 |
| "Coming Unglued" is nothing short of fabulous. It is an absolute page turner for me that I could not put down until the very end that left me with tears. As book two of a Sisters, Ink novel it does well and could be read as a stand alone although it does continue where "Sisters, Ink" left off with a focus on Kendra (book one is a focus on Tandy). This story is about forgiveness and seeing sins as what they really are and growing as an individual and as a person leaving the past as what it is. I'm not sure that anyone could read this story without related a little bit or possibly a lot to the pain of what is going on. But it is amazing how things that seem like there is no solution can be worked out in a manner or form. This book is by far going on my keeper shelf and I cannot wait for the next books in the series to follow along with the other sisters in their journeys of life. Like the first book there was a confusion of a double take with a name swap or two, but it doesn't take away from the story much at all if you're paying attention and caught up in what is happening. I'd recommend this read to anyone really, especially someone in need of some healing and romance. You might be a little surprised at what you can learn about yourself through the lives of these fabulous characters. | | | | A charming novel Jul 13, 2008 |
Rebeca Seitz has penned a charming chick-lit novel. From the cover art that looks like a page in a scrapbook, "Coming Unglued" lays out the story of Kendra Sinclair, one of the four scrapbooking Sinclair Sisters (say that five times fast). In this modern interracial love story, Kendra has a decision to make about the second most important relationship in her life. Loving the wrong guy feels right, and loving the right guy feels wrong because of her past.
Although it didn't captivate me as I believe it would have if I had read the previous "Sisters, Inc." novel, it was well written story with likable characters and solid Christian values. The message of forgiveness is woven deeply through the novel. The example of the beauty of Christian sisters is inspiring to the reader as well. | | | Write your own review about Coming Unglued (Scrapbooker's Series #3)
