So, you are supposed to read this book and put into practice the activities without letting your spouse know where you are getting the ideas. I'm about half way through it and I havn't read anything I haven't thought about in the past. But....it gets you thinking in a way that may be a distant memory. A long time ago I thought of my spouse as a fragile, cherished person. There was nothing more importnt than her feelings. Reading this book reminds me of how I used to think of her and our relationship. It's not her or me that is the main thing. It is us. It is hard to stay focused on the main thing when other things get in the way. This book is a reminder to keep trying.

Following the methods it contains gives you a new way to view your interactions with the world, not simply the person you plan to spend you life with. I'd recommend the book to anyone exploring a new relationship because the techniques you'll develop will certainly help you to appreciate one another in a more tangible manner, but I'd also recommend it to anyone who struggles with how they view themselves. Amazing! For several years I've been counseling men who's marriages are in disarray. But nothing I've been able to tell them is even nearly as good as the wonderful examples of self-less love in this book. It's daily love-deeds can make all the difference. And the wonderful part about The Love Dare is that during the 40-day walk, the Word of God and the Holy Spirit will change a man's heart. That's what it's all about.

Gave Himself for her! That is the issue! We have only been thinking about the big ME, while Christ wants us to lay down our life for her.
I have begun to challenge "my men" in this way "If you will promise to do the Love Dare, and faithfully report to me about how you are doing, then I will buy the book for you."
