Anointing Oil and the Alabaster Box
This beautifully handcrafted Genuine Alabaster Bottle is symbolic of the "Alabaster Box" Mary broke open when she anointed the feet of Jesus. Includes 1/4 oz Frankincense oil and a refillable alabaster bottle. Frankincense & Olive oil are traditionally for anointing your skin and for worshipful prayer. Frankincense oil is the perfume of Israel, made from the Essence of fragrant flowers.
The Alabaster Bottle is 5" in height and includes stopper/applicator.
ANOINTING OILS The Bible is literally full of references to fragrances, whether they be the special oil used for anointing priests and kings, the incense that was burned in the tabernacle and temple, or the perfumes that were used by the people of the Bible. Here are some of the fragrances that are mentioned in the lives of the Israelites: Nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, Frankincense, myrrh, aloes, and the finest spices (Song of Solomon 4:14).
The holy anointing oil described in Exodus: 30:22-25, was created from a recipe:
- 500 shekels (about 6 kg) of Myrrh,
- half as much (about 3 kg) of fragrant cinnamon,
- 250 shekels (about 3 kg) of fragrant cane, "kaneh bosm," (variously translated as calamus or cannabis),
- 500 shekels (about 6kg) of Cassia,
- and a hin (about 4 L) of olive oil.

Answer: Alabaster is a rock, sort of like Travertine or Marble. I've not heard of any Alabaster Rock Oil, but we do have a lot of oils that would work well in an Alabaster Lamp if that is what you are asking for. Give us a call and we can let you know what will work best for your needs.
