Special Margin Study Guide.
All of our large Bibles have a unique easy to use margin study guide with over 90 topics from which to choose. This margin study guide allows the reader to go from cover-to-cover using the pure word of God as their study. There are many other study helps too numerous to list. To name just a few are: a topical concordance, maps, earthquake charts, flood information, the chronology of the bible (by Dr. Floyd Jones), Bible and Science (by Dr. Henry Morris), guide to the laws of the Bible, Jewish calendar, a survey of Daniel's 70 weeks, land and people of the Bible, the time of the patriarchs, judges and kings, and on and on.
Red Letter Old and New Testament
A feature that is unique to our Bibles is a Red Letter Old Testament as well as a Red Letter New Testament. In the Old Testament the red lettering is the direct words of God. In the New Testament the red lettering is the words of Christ.
The Received Text
Another primary difference between the KJV Easy Reading and other versions on the market is it follows the Received Text. The Received Text is what the church fathers have used for nearly 400 years. The Easy Reading follows the King James text almost word for word merely updating language. Among the many reasons for this is it allows one who has learned English as a second language to have an understanding of the scriptures without thee's and thous'. Please note this has all been done without changing one word of doctrine or touching deity.
Difficult Term Definitions
Underlined words are defined at the end of the verse in a different typeface. When an underlined word occurs more than once per column, it is defined generally in the first and last occurrence in the text column. The explanatory words are not necessarily to be understood as alternate translations, nor as corrective translations. These words, however, will often open up the meaning of a word or verse that often has been otherwise not understood or misunderstood.
Superscript P's
Many wanted the reliability of the King James Bible but were unfamiliar or uncomfortable with many of the old English forms and words. The King James Easy-Reading Bible changes all second person singular pronouns to their modern equivalents: thee (you), thy (your), thine (yours), and thyself (yourself). To distinguish the plural pronouns from the singular ones, the King James Easy-Reading Bible places a superscript p (meaning plural) after each plural second person pronoun. Accordingly, the old English forms yield to the modern equivalents: ye (you p ), you (you p ), your (your p ), yours (yours ), and yourselves (yourselves ). Whenever these forms reflect the name of deity, they begin with a capital letter.
Reading Grade Level
The KJVER version was rated on the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level Indicator test at the 4th Grade level. Combine this rating with the underlined and defined end of verse meanings; it makes it by far the easiest to read and most desirable Bible that follows the Received Text for people of all ages. The KJVER uses one and two syllable words while new versions have to use multi-syllable words and phrases.

 | a really good bible Aug 30, 2011 |
| This is a really good bible. I love it but since I've been reading this bible my life has really been screwed up. Every nut and crazy person has come into my life and showed theirself. So that they have screwed me out of going to car races and baseball games which I love. I'll keep reading this bible. I wish you have the sword bible in king james verson. | | | | Highly Recommended! Mar 5, 2007 |
If you are like me, you probably have many Bibles, many Study Bibles, and would like one Bible that has basically everything you need. The Sword Bible has everything you need in a single Bible. It has a concordance, articles about prophecy, articles about the creation, and many study helps on various topics, information about Jesus, the names of God, maps, and too many other things to list. Here is what I like best: though it is listed as a 'Large Print' Bible, it has larger print than all of the Giant Print Bibles I own, except for my Super Giant Print Bible. It says 12.7 point type, but it looks bigger, and is easier to read than the 14 point type in two of my Giant Print Bibles. The second thing that I'm very pleased with is that it is a true easy to read KJV Bible. Unlike the NKJV Bible, it does not retranslate passages and change the meaning of passages. The Sword Easy Reading Bible is a true KJV, Only updating some clearly listed words, and only giving the defintion in textual notes of outdated or poorly understood words. This is the only true KJV update I've seen. All other so-called updates change words like "hell" to "hades", and insert other words that do not belong in the text. For those who believe that only the KJV is accurate and dependable among all the Bible versions--I think you will be pleased and satisfied with the Sword Easy Reading KJV. There is not much on the negative side to this Bible. I think they could have made the bonded leather cover a bit thicker, and perhaps packaged it in a box rather than a slipcover. I believe they need to make this wonderful Bible available in a mid-range size for those who don't need large/giant print. This is a big Bible, not something you are going to tote around much. But it is a one-volume Bible that is easy to read, easy on the eyes, and also a study Bible. Note that this edition comes in two colors. Black is isbn: 0966890736 The other color is purple, so beware which color you are ordering. | | | | absolutely and AWSOME version of the Bible Jan 22, 2007 |
This is the only version I know of that lists the words of God in red also, not just the words of Jesus. It's really great!
Also... the picture listed is of the cardboard slide-over box that the Bible comes in... the Bible is actually leather-bound in either black, purple, or red/burgundy; and has a gold-etched sword with the words "Sharper than a two-edged sword" on it, hence the name 'the sword Bible'... above that it also has the title "the Word of God" written in etched gold caligraphy. this Bible is available with and without finger indexing for the different books of the Bible.
I wish this site would tell us or give us a choice as to which version we're getting black, red, purple, indexed, or not indexed... | | | Write your own review about KJVer Sword/Word Of God/Large Print-Purp Bond (Rev)
