Reviews - What do customers think about Dreaming On Daisies (Love Blossoms In Oregon V3)?

Awesome Story  Jul 13, 2015
Author Miralee Ferrell captured my attention immediately on her book, Dreaming on Daisies. What was remarkable for me is how the author addressed the issues of family, trust, faith, forgiveness and God. I feel the characters are written in a different style to deal with these problems. I love and enjoyed reading this historical romantic book but having these subjects written in a marvelous manner is awesome to me. I highly recommend reading Dreaming on Daisies by Author Miralee Ferrell and it's a book in the Love Blossoms in Oregon Series.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

God Will Always Make A Way  Jan 25, 2015
In this third novel of the "Love Blossoms in Oregon" series, Miralee Ferrell intertwines today's realities with historical fiction. Addiction, depression, abandonment, empty promises unfulfilled, jealousy and an unsatisfactory relationship with her father are many of the things Leah experiences. After her mother died, her brother left town and her father took on alcoholism, Leah has been picking up the shatter pieces of life ever since. Not to mention, taking on the responsibilities of the ranch and completely worn out by it all. However these experiences and moments of pain shape her into a woman of character as Leah meets Steven Harding. Steven feels forgotten and holds on to bitterness due to his mother. Can a previous family relationship heal the wounds of Stevens heart as he begins a job at Leah's families ranch or will forgiveness not be an option for him? Will Leah learn to trust Steven despite empty promises from her past? Will God make a way neither of them expected?

"Dreaming on Daisies" can be read as a standalone story, but I recommend reading the rest of the series! This book will instantly grab you from start to finish. You won't be able to put it down! When it's over, you'll be finding yourself thinking about the characters, or at least I did. This book offers grace and compassion, especially to anyone who has ever dealt with addiction, looking for hope. I loved this book and I highly recommend it!

A Great Addition  Oct 17, 2014
Dreaming on Daisies by Miralee Ferrell is the fourth story in the Love Blossoms in Oregon Series. Telling the story of Leah Carlson, Steven

Harding and Charlie Pape, it is by far the most challenging to be told.

Leah Carlson faced so many changes during a pivotal time in her life. Ma dying and her brother running away drove the only Pa she has ever known

to the bottle. Leah has poured her life, love and tears into the ranch and the land surrounding it. Now all of it is in jeopardy. In order to

move into the future, she must face the past and the present. Afraid the only constant in her life will be ripped away, will Leah figure out the

lies, discover the truth, and tame her heart? Will her future and all that she holds dear be just out of reach?

Steven Harding is at a fork in his road. No longer having to contend with another's feelings or life, he is free to find God's path for him.

However, he has no idea what he wants until he stumbles on someone whose life seems to be running parallel with his. Will he be able to help?

In order to save a family, a ranch and gain a future, Steven will need to face his past, his fears, and his own feelings.

Charlie Pape has held a secret way too long. Once the secret rears its ugly head, will Charlie lose all that he holds dear? Pride can be one's

downfall. Charlie must rein in his pride and face his fears and the lives that were changed all those years ago. And who is this ornery woman

who keeps putting her nose where it doesn't belong? Will she help him to heal? Can Charlie put down the bottle in order to gain so much more?

Why is this woman stirring feelings Charlie had long buried?

Each of the characters in this story must learn to face too long held secrets, fears, and dreams. Miralee Ferrell does an excellent job of

bringing the reader to know and understand these characters through their thoughts and emotions. While I have enjoyed each story of this series

for various reasons, Leah and Steven's story is one that will, I am sure, resonate in many lives. Fear, pride, lies, truth and secrets are all

handled differently by each person. Leah chooses work. Steven was lost. Charlie escaped in the bottle. Nevertheless, by swallowing their pride,

telling the truth, and facing their fears, each finds the one true path God has set forth for them. I look forward to revisiting Baker City in

other stories or again in these stories. An excellent book and series! I will be reading these books again in the future I am sure!

Great Christian Historical Romance  Oct 1, 2014
Miralee Ferrell has a writing style that pulls you into the pages of her books. Dreaming on Daisies invites you into the lives and romance of characters briefly mentioned in previous books within this series. Her characters are so real--you will find strong personalities, people who learned to look at themselves though others' eyes, people who struggle with addictions, warm and inviting personalities, and so many more real-to-life character traits. A person would be hard-pressed not to find someone in her stories with whom you can relate.
I have found this book to be very enjoyable. In fact, I have enjoyed this story the most from the Love Blossoms in Oregon Series. The banter between characters and the events that transpire throughout the story are what draw me.
I have a sincere appreciation for the Christian thread throughout the story, always keeping God and her faith as the core of her writing.

Dreaming On Daisies  Sep 28, 2014
I was drawn into this story by the author right from the start. Miralee Ferrell has Penned an awesome story from start to finish. When I started reading Dreaming On Daisies I did not want to put it down. This is the third book in the series Love Blossoms In Oregon and I do want to say that it is my favorite. This is a good clean western historical romance and I loved it . I did not have any problems following the story or the characters. You will meet some of the same characters from the other two books. I would suggest reading the first two books in the series before you read Dreaming On Daisies, You will understand it better. This is Leah Carlson and Steven Hardings story. Leah lives with her dad on their family ranch. Leah goes to the bank and wants a loan for the ranch ,for improvements. She is turned down. Now Steven feels really bad and wants to help her someway. Leah feels she has been let down most of her life. She cannot trust anyone, she is afraid too. Steven works at the bank and he also has some family issues. I loved these two characters. Will Leah and Steven learn to trust again? I want go into the story to much , I do not want to give to much a way. Miralee did not disappoint me on Dreaming On Daisies and you will love it too.
I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review, and I have given it .

Dreaming On Daisies by Miralee Ferrell   Sep 25, 2014
Leah Carlson finds herself doing more and more in the running of her families ranch with the help of their ranch foreman. Her father, Charlie Pape has not been much help for many years. He goes out and drowns his sorrows over loosing his wife in the bottle every night, coming home drunk and hung-over. Her brother, Tom, left some years ago and she doesn't know where he is. Finances are tight and Leah decides to go to the bank for another loan to tide them over. The bank president is not available so she asks Steven Harding, who is an associate of the president for the loan. He gently tells her that he cannot do it without the presidents approval. Discouraged, Leah returns to the ranch, praying for some answers. Later when she returns to the bank and speaks to the bank president, he denies her the loan saying her father needs to be the one asking for it not her. What is she going to do now?

Steven Harding did not like refusing a loan for Leah. He would like to help her but needs to come up with a plan that she will agree to. When the small shack he lives in near the mines burns down Steven has a perfect reason to ask Leah for her help—when he is really helping her. She finally agrees to let him stay in the bunk house and help out on the ranch evenings and weekends when he is not working at the ranch. Steven slowly gains Leah's trust with his work ethic and godly character.

Suddenly Tom shows up at the ranch with some very startling news to Leah. News she does not want to believe, no way is he telling the truth. She confronts her father but he refuses to talk about it. More secrets come to light as Leah tries to find out the truth, a truth she may not want to know. Will the truth she uncovers help heal her broken heart or tear it open more? How can she forgive her family for the lies they let her believe all these years?

I like that we see more of the same characters from Wishing on Buttercups in this story; but this can be read as a stand-alone book. Leah and Steven are challenged by some of the same challenges we face today: betrayal, deceit, lies, secrets, desertion, drinking problems impacting the whole family, pride, trouble trusting, forgiveness, romance, love and God's love for us, to name a few. Miralee developed her characters in such a way you feel like shaking some of them and hugging others. I like the way she includes as part of her books the Christian faith in the lives of her characters while not being preachy. Another great book by Miralee Ferrell!!

A wonderful, historical romance!  Sep 24, 2014
I adore the Love Blossoms in Oregon series!

Dreaming on Daisies is an emotional journey that is both entertaining and encouraging. Leah Carlson is a young woman who has been hurt by secrets and strife. However, as this beautiful story conveys, wounded hearts can find healing. I loved this wonderful, historical romance and highly recommend it, as well as the other books in Miralee Ferrell’s Love Blossoms in Oregon series!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Fabulous 1881 Western Romance  Sep 15, 2014
DREAMING ON DAISIES BY MIRALEE FERRELL
A fabulous read about Leah, her brother Tom, Steven, Charlie and Florence. Steven comes to Baker City, OR to work in the bank. Charlie is a very difficult person because of his drinking. Florence is a very strong, dominant, no nonsense lady. So that's the set up for the story which unfolds in a page-turning story of loss, love, redemption, and remembrances. You'll really enjoy the writing style, character development, conflict resolution and Biblical values throughout. I enjoyed it immensely.

Today's Heart Issues, Set in Old West  Aug 30, 2014
Young Leah Carlson is saddled with running the ranch of her increasingly ne'er-do-well father, Charlie Pape. Heart-sick over his wife's death years before, Charlie visits the saloon and leaves more and more of the day-to-day running of the ranch to Leah and the ranch foreman. Charlie's son,and Leah's brother,Tom, lights out for places unknown as soon as he is able. With Charlie's continued drinking and gambling, the ranch is soon in dire straights.

Steven Harding, a bank teller, and brother of Beth (from Wishing on Buttercups, the previous book),is unable to extend a bank loan. He then thinks to lend aid by renting a room at the ranch and helping with the ranch chores. This way he can also be close to Leah, of whom he is becoming fond.

This is the third full-length book in the Love Blossoms in Oregon series by Miralee Ferrell. Set in the 1880's in Oregon, the book grabs your attention because the characters grapple with issues that are troublesome today: betrayal, deceit, desertion, inability to trust, pride, sharp tongue, forgiveness, sibling rivalry for parent affection, etc. Miralee uses skillful word pictures, fun characters, well-timed humor, and beautiful prose to present her enduring stories of love and the Old West. Not to be missed!

Although this is the third in a series, fourth if you count the novella, Forget Me Not, it stands alone well. I was provided an advance copy of this book by the author in exchange for a review.
