Reviews - What do customers think about 1001 Bugs To Spot (Usborne 1001 Things to Spot)?
 | "Little People Will Love Searching for Bugs.....You Will, Too!" Jan 30, 2010 |
Say, "little people" here's a book just for you, somewhat like "Where's Waldo?". The difference is that there are 16 double pages with various puzzles for you to browse. You can go looking for each of the bugs, using the chart alongside the pages, giving the number of bugs as well as the name of the bug. The 16 themes range from the tropical treetops, the sandy desert, pond life, the garden shed, and the butterfly house, to many more.
All the bugs and insects are very colorful, some with intricate designs, others with their own noticeable body parts. Now, nothing is going to pop out of the page and scare anyone, so go easy, and let your child try a couple examples in each puzzle. Maybe, have him or her use her finger to count out how many she needs to find; then, he or she can go "fingering the bugs" without any threat, If you prefer to work only on one double page layout, put some clear sheets on the pages, and have the child use a washable marker to circle the findings; you can always erase the marks.
Take it from me, it's a safe way to control pests! (That's just a joke!) See which of the two page layouts your child prefers, and have her or him move about the book as a personal science lesson. Even an adult will have fun with this book. Don't let this bug you!
